THE EXPLORATION OF DESPERATION:
MISERY, THE CONSTITUTION AND SOCIAL JUSTICE IN BRAZIL

This article deals with reflections on the Brazilian reality considering the objectives presented in the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, including the eradication of poverty and the reduction of social inequalities. Analyzing Brazilian history, it is evident that poverty has always existed and that the groups that remain in power manage to perpetuate themselves precisely in the exploitation of the despair of those who do not have minimum rights, even though these are universal as provided for in the political charter, with social justice being a utopia and not a purpose that the State is dedicated to achieve.
